Weekend Training Ride 9/30/07

One of the last long rides before we start to taper for Soma!

Weekend Ride for 9/4/07

When: 7:15 am for 7:30 departure (Saturday 9/4/07)
What: 60 mile ride followed by 30 min run
Why: Because it's fun!
Other: I will provide route slips. Brunch at Elijah's Deli (8813 Villa La Jolla) to follow (off Nobel and Villa La Jolla Shopping Center by Whole Foods).

Ride Directions:
1. Head north on Regents Rd. out of Doyle Park.
2. Turn left on Genessee (mile 1).
3. Turn right onto I-5 North on-ramp.
4. Stay on shoulder beside ramp. Exit next exit (Sorrento Valley Rd.)
5. Turn left on Roselle St.
6. Turn right on Sorrento Valley Blvd (mile 3). Continue east on Sorrento Valley Blvd.
7. Sorrento Valley Blvd becomes Calle Cristobal before turning sharply right 0nto Camino Ruiz (mile 8.5). Turn right onto Camino Ruiz.
8. Left on Capricorn Way.
9. Right on Black Mountain Rd (mile 10).
10. Left on Carroll Canyon Rd (mile 11.5).
11. CCR curves to left and splits into Scripps Ranch Blvd. Turn right on Scripps Ranch Blvd.
12. Turn right onto Spring Canyon Rd (SRB dead-ends onto SCR; mile 15).
13. Turn left onto Pomerado Rd (SCR dead-ends onto PR; mile 16.5).
14. Right on Scripps Poway Pkwy (mile 18).
15. Left (north) on 67 (mile 23.5).
16. Left on Poway (Hwy S4) (mile 25).
17. Right on Espola Rd (mile 28).
18. Left on Twin Peaks Rd (mile 28.5).
19. Continue straight as Twin Peaks Rd becomes Camino del Norte after crossing Pomerado Rd (mile 31).
**Turn right (mile 33.5) on Bernardo Center Dr for rest stop and regroup at 7-11 (15883 Bernardo Center Dr)**
20. Continue straight as Camino del Norte becomes Camino del Sur (mile 36).
21. Turn left on Carmel Valley Rd (mile 41).
22. Right Black Mountain Rd. (mile 42).
23. Enter 56 Bike path and turn right (head west; mile 44.5).
22. Exit bike path at El Camino Real (walk bike short stretch of dirt; mile 51.5).
23. Left on Carmel Valley Rd (mile 52).
24. Left on Torrey Pines Rd (south; mile 53). Up Torrey Pines hill. Almost home.
25. At intersection of Torrey Pines and Genesse split, go straight and enter path into UCSD on other side of street (mile 57).
26. Straight on North Point Lane.
27. At stop sign, turn left on North Point Dr.
28. At bottom of hill, NPD becomes John Hopkins Dr. Continue on JHD.
29. Left on Voigt Dr by UCSD park to go down hill (mile 58).
30. Continue as Voigt becomes Canyonview Dr. by UCSD pool. Becomes Voiht again after pool.
31. Turn right on Medical Center Dr by parking lots (mile 59).
32. Turn left on Health Sciences Dr.
33. Turn right on Regents Rd and continue riding south back to Doyle Park.
